Europe’s culture capital proudly plays host to its first GCBPT, as players from wide and far look to contest bragging rights in Leo’s Gala Casino on the scenic Albert Dock.

119 runners and alternates took part in the opening event of the week, with the field for the £100 freeze-out being well represented by a strong local contingent. Play was soon underway with dealers happy to be back in their assured rhythm following the summer break!

By midnight, over half the field was left with a good number of exits flowing through into the cash games located to the bottom end of the cardroom. The bubble burst on 12th place, with the rest getting into the money and 10 sat down to the final table just after 2:30am. After 4am, and after 45 minute tense heads-up, it was congratulations to Gary Bowden for a good night’s play wrapping things up with his full house.
