Ford crashes

Zachary Ford piles the pressure on Lee Birchall with a bet on the river that puts Birchall all in. The board is 3 6 A 8 2 and Birchall doesn’t like having to play for his tournament life so close to the money. There is around 105,000 in the pot already and Birchall has about 39,000 left.

If he still wanted to play his hand on the flop the 8 and 2 shouldn’t have changed much but he agonises over the decision for a long time before eventually sticking it in. He shows A J and Ford nods and mucks his hand.

Birchall is delighted and understandably so – it’s a big pot that will put him in a good position now.
