Leeds GBPT £200 + £20 Freezeout
The £200 event saw another fully subscribed card room seated for the 7pm start, that included many a face from the ‘travelling Teessiders’ (…yes, they’ll need their own GBPT bus before too long!) alongside other familiar faces like Gerry O’Farrell, Angus Dunnington, Mark Patrick and, not least, seasoned pro bracelet holder Willie Tann.
As the all-in’s increased and the field reduced throughout the evening, there was a healthy appetite for striking up cash games dealt out the ‘Kirstall Lounge’.
Our final table got down to five and a deal was reached opening up what was guarded and tight play. A bit of post-deal tension out of the way relaxed things, freeing up play until Dave Maudlin and Mark Patrick ended up at heads-up at approx 4am. Dave commanded the majority stack to see him cross the line ahead of Mark to cap off a good game and some quality poker to boot! The final standings were as follows:

1 | David Maudlin | £4,250 + Seat in £500 Main Event |
