It’s been a cracking opening festival in the 2008 Tour which saw plenty of appetite for tournament poker! The Gala Maybury Casino played host to a strong local contingent as well as a good number of players from across the UK and Europe - all looking to make an impression in Scotland’s capital.

The Main Event just wasn’t to be this time for defending title holder Eddie Gaines, or ultimately Great British Poker Champion Joe Beevers. More at home on the snooker table, John ‘The Wizard’ Higgins showed steadfast ‘Robert The Bruce’ like qualities only to narrowly miss out on the final table.

Plaudits go to Colin Wu who was declared the overall winner thanks to a superior chip stack, following a deal brokered between our final three.
